Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I don’t usually write reviews, but Weston, who came out, deserves it! Weston completely changed my life with his professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. From the first visit, he went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. He has incredible work ethic and integrity — the kind of person who restores your faith in good people. Not only did he help with the problem, that was affecting my life terribly, but he also followed up afterward to check on how things were with me and my home since the treatment. Weston is as professional as he is personable, and I will recommend him everytime. He brought me peace of mind and made my home feel safe again. I am eternally greatful for such a wonderful person ,experience, and business that goes above and beyond. Truly a five-star experience in every way. Id give more than five stars if it were possible! Thank you!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It seems EVERYONE is battling yellow jacket and wasp issues this year. We had called multiple other places, and they were all so busy they either weren't taking new clients, or they didn't even bother to call us back after we left a message.

After a web search, I happened across Martin's Pest Control. I gave a quick call, and was surprised when Weston (the owner) answered the call on the second ring. He indicated he could be out before the end of the week, and for our situation, we likely would not need to be on site, which is wonderful, avoiding missing any work time.

For us, the yellow jackets were entering on a corner of the house, approximately 18' up. We tried myriad sprays, across many brands and formulas. Some of these would kill a few bees, but were having no appreciable impact on the overall problem. Due to the height, we weren't going to put ourselves in a position to get swarmed while high up a ladder, so we couldn't try Sevin or the like.

Weston was true to his word, contacting me two days after I spoke with him, indicating he was en route. I got home from work as he was finishing up. He took the time to explain to me what he had done, why, and what the nature of the issue was. This is a problem we've battled for weeks, and Weston took care of it with zero stress or inconvenience on our part.

To boot, I had researched average pricing for this sort of work. I was charged less than what I expected, they took care of the yellow jackets and wasps, and even found and treated a few small wasp nests under our porch, which I had not yet found. Absolutely bowled over by the service and professionalism!

I would recommend him to anyone needing an exterminator. He assisted me immediately for wasps and yellow-jackets. He answered the phone on two rings and was at my home within two hours..

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Have questions about pest control for your home or business? Below are answers to common questions from customers in Harrisonburg, Staunton, and throughout the surrounding Shenandoah Valley. If you do not see your question here, contact Martin’s Pest Control to discuss what you are seeing and schedule an inspection.

pest control professional in harrisonburg VA

Martin’s Pest Control treats many common pests found in Shenandoah Valley homes and businesses, including ants, mice, rats, termites, wasps, yellow jackets, bed bugs, cockroaches, spiders, mosquitoes, and ticks. Because the right treatment depends on the pest and the property, we begin by identifying the problem and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.

We select products and treatment methods based on the pest, the property, and where activity is occurring. All products are applied according to their label instructions. Before treatment begins, we will explain any precautions you should take, such as removing pet dishes, covering certain belongings, or keeping people and pets away from a treated area until it is safe to return.

The time required depends on the size of the property, the pest involved, and the extent of the activity. A routine residential visit may take around an hour, while termite, bed bug, rodent, or larger commercial treatments may require more time or multiple visits. We can provide a more accurate estimate after learning about your situation.

Not always. For many treatments, you may remain at home while avoiding the specific area being treated. Other services may require people and pets to leave for a designated period. We will give you clear preparation and reentry instructions before treatment so you know exactly what to expect.

It depends on the pest and the conditions around your property. Some isolated problems may respond well to a one-time treatment, while recurring pests may require follow-up visits or ongoing protection. Martin’s also offers twice-yearly service for homeowners who want regular inspections and preventive treatment. No schedule can guarantee that pests will never return, but ongoing service can help identify activity early and reduce recurring problems.

If you have an urgent pest problem in Harrisonburg, Staunton, or a nearby community, contact us and explain what is happening. We will assess the situation and let you know the soonest available appointment. Appointment timing depends on our schedule, your location, and the type of pest involved.

Keep food in sealed containers, clean up crumbs and spills, repair leaking pipes, remove standing water, and keep firewood and vegetation away from the exterior of your home. Seal gaps around doors, windows, pipes, vents, and the foundation where pests may enter. During your visit, we can point out conditions specific to your property that may be attracting pests or giving them access.
